Sr. Application Developer - Flint, Michigan

Description of Position:

• Requires working with Clients and Business Analysts to architect, design, develop, and build software applications following our software development lifecycle and change control process.
• Need to be able to work with Project Managers and provide accurate project estimates, task plans, and other project artifact documentation.
• Ensure that software applications are developed according to project specifications and coding standards.
• Advise, lead, consult, and liaison with team members on projects or high priority escalated issues. Provide direction to other members of the staff.
• Oversee execution of all high level escalation tasks assigned to development team.
• Understand priority of problem and resolve problems in a timely manner as required by business or client need.
• Ensure application quality by thoroughly documenting code, follow development standards, test changes prior to user acceptance testing, follow version control standards, create appropriate transition documentation for support teams and following through to production implementation.
• Maintain knowledge of current applications development technology and uses this knowledge to develop Bank standards.
• Assist management by recommending and implementing tools or procedures for software lifecycle best practices that constantly improve the quality of services provided to the customer.
• Maintain knowledge of financial applications and systems technology and use this knowledge to develop and improve process improvements.
• Adhere to all regulatory and compliance issues linked to the job and the team and understand how these issues help the bank achieve the vision of remaining an independent bank.

  Qualifications:

• Knowledge of good programming techniques, understanding of structure technologies and object oriented technologies at a level normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or some other closely related degree.
• A minimum of eight years experience as a software applications development experience in order to be able to understand the project planning process, have worked on project teams.
• Extensive knowledge of .NET Framework 1.1/2.0/3.5, C#.NET, ASP.NET, VB.NET, ASP, VB6, JavaScript, VBScript, AJAX, XML, XSL, HTML, Web Services and SQL.
• Experience in creating data models for applications and working with web services.
• Working knowledge of high availability software architectures.  
• Must have a working knowledge of an end-to-end business solution using the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Strong communications skills in order to be able to lead team meetings and interact with clients to understand needs and to design and deliver solutions that most efficiently utilizes the Banks resources to best address the client’s needs.
• Excellent team building skills in working with all levels of staff in leading projects, developing and communicating standards and procedures and directing problem resolution.
• Very strong problem solving skills in order to be able to work with problems that are complex and often unique and uses strong technical knowledge to determine resolution strategies aligned to business needs.
